Season 2025 Productions

A celebration of River Rep’s artists and audience, featuring the River Rep ensemble and a talented lineup of local and visiting artists, the 2nd Annual Gala Benefit will include musical performances and scenes from River Rep’s 2025 season opener, the beloved fantasy classic The Neverending Story, Harold Pinter’s Betrayal, Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, and much more! 

Artists include: Arthur Aulisi, Jonathan Brody, Luna Ditacchio, Tiffany Esteb, Tibor Feldman, Donna Jean Fogel, Ellie J, Kazzrie Jaxen, Harrison Killian, Tannis Kowalchuk (artistic director, Farm Arts Collective), Raye Levine Spielberg, Cooper Quinn, Oliver Schumacher, Jason Sherwin, Jim Sullivan, Gregory Thomas, Laura Velez and Waverly Van Aalsburg. Directed by Christopher Peditto. Additional direction by Arthur Aulisi and Josh Liveright.

A full buffet will be served with delicious food from top Sullivan Catskills restaurants. A cash bar will be open throughout the event. A Silent Auction will launch online in early April and continue through Gala night, where patrons can bid on a variety of goods and services from local artists and businesses.

Good intentions collide with absurd assumptions in Larissa FastHorse’s wickedly funny satire, as a troupe of terminally ‘woke’ teaching artists scrambles to create a pageant that manages to celebrate both Turkey Day and Native American Heritage Month.

‘ART’ by Yasmina Reza

Winner of the Tony Award for Best Play, this “sharp, witty and clever” (The Guardian) comedy focuses on the meaning of art (in the form of a solid white painting) as well as the meaning of friendship, to both the man who bought the painting and the two friends who come to see it.

TARA’S STORY: THE BIRTH OF THE UNIVERSE by Cynthia Von Orthal

As part of its Visiting Artists Series, River Rep will present acclaimed puppet maker and performer Cynthia Von Orthal, who will perform TARA’S STORY: THE BIRTH OF THE UNIVERSE - an original puppet play for children. Come see Tara and all her beautiful children come to life! Based on a sacred Tibetan myth, Tara, the beloved Mother Goddess of the Universe, lives in a vast, dark space. All alone, she begins to think of her children: about how much she misses then… about how much she loves them. So Tara begins to call out into the darkness. As she calls, she begins to dance - setting the universe and all its amazing life into motion. With original score by Paul Von Mertens, this magical creation myth embraces the love of life and our remarkable universe. (DATES TBA)
